Hitting the wall

I have done just about all that I can do for now. The bench is painted and dry (mostly). The website is up at http://bbgproducts.ecrater.com and I think L is printing out some business cards for me to bring. I made four kinds of bagels this afternoon (plain, sesame, poppy seed, and cinnamon-raisin). I also painted the landlord's kitchen in exchange for half of this month's rent and visited with my sponsor to try to get a grip on some serenity. Tomorrow I pack the bench into its crate, wrapping each piece so it doesn't get banged around, and we head south.

Only I have a ton of local stuff to do before we go. I have to pack my clothes and the toiletries. I have to pack the bagels, a couple of knives, the cream cheese and the toaster. (We're planning on breakfasting with Rusty and his entourage each morning. We'll supply bagels, they supply coffee.) I have to go in town and pick up the trash that I forgot to pick up on Wednesday for a lady I help out there. I have to call my helper A and remind her that she's in charge of snow removal over the weekend. We're not supposed to get any, but still. I have to pack the dog's stuff to take to the sitter's, make sure the cat has food and water and catnip toys for while we are gone and then get that ginormous (and heavy) box into L's car for the trip to Rhode Island. Oh, and I need cell phones and order forms and confirmation numbers and a camera and batteries and chargers and all that stuff. Bleah! Too much stuff in too little time.

Pray that someone makes an offer on this thing and that six more people order them for home. I hope to go next year as a vendor, complete with booth space and inventory and all that. We'll see what happens. First I want to get a look at things and see what's out there. No sense reinventing the wheel and less sense in pissing off the other merchants.

On a sad note, I was declined by the whatzit that handles Visa and Master Card, so I will not be able to accept credit cards for a while yet. Seems my bankruptcy of three years ago is still to fresh a mark on my credit history. You'd think they'd be OK with me accepting money using credit cards, so long as I'm not asking to spend money using one. Eh. Go figure. The website takes paypal. That's the best I can do. It'll have to be enough for this trip.

It is time to hit the hay. Much to do tomorrow. Will post from the hotel once we get there and settled (hopefully). It will be good to see my old college roommate and her husband. I think it's been nearly 15 years since last we spoke in person. That alone will make it worth the trip. Wish me luck!

LUCK LUCK LUCK but you won't need it - you have an amazing product, you believe in it and worked hard for it, it will sell itself! Keep us posted. Even though I leave Sunday for FLA, I'm taking the laptop to remain connected. And I agree with dolphyngyrl, PICTURES PLEASE!
